Stardots Expands Psilmi® Platform with Two U.S. Patent Filings, Advancing Objective Measurement in Psychiatry
Stardots today announced the filing of two new U.S. patent applications, strengthening the IP foundation of Psilmi®, its multi-indication SaMD platform for physiology-based measurement in CNS disorders.
The filings expand Psilmi’s capability to capture and translate neurophysiological signals into actionable biomarkers for clinical decision support and drug development.
New IP covers:
🔹 Pupil Regulation Biomarkers
Light-evoked pupil response modeling generating ~50 markers of autonomic regulation, arousal, and cognitive load
→ Enables objective readouts of neurophysiology and treatment dynamics
🔹 Visual Search Pattern Biomarkers
Eye-tracking-based Go/No-Go paradigm quantifying attention, inhibition, and search efficiency
→ Enables scalable assessment of executive function
Impact:
Psilmi® introduces a measurement layer for psychiatry (e.g., ADHD, depression, anxiety, and autism) , supporting:
- Patient stratification in heterogeneous populations
- Earlier, objective detection of treatment response
- Treatment selection and titration strategies
- Improved clinical trial design and probability of success
Example: Enabling differentiation of patient subgroups more likely to respond to stimulant vs. non-stimulant treatments in ADHD.
Why this matters:
Psychiatry remains one of the largest therapeutic areas without objective measurement, driving variability in outcomes and inefficiencies in drug development.
“You can’t optimize what you can’t measure — and psychiatry has lacked that layer.”
Psilmi® is designed to integrate into both clinical trials and real-world care, enabling more precise, data-driven decisions across CNS..
